The much awaited report on the 2G scam finally was submitted today by a one man panel led by retired Supreme Court judge Justice Shivraj V Patil, who was appointed by the department of telecommunication (DoT) to probe the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

As per report of the sources, the name of former telecom minister A Raja is among the officials who violated the rules leading to the scam.

While speaking to media, Justice Patil said that the panel has identified the officials on whose part there were deficiencies or violations or lapses and the remedial measures have also been suggested in the report.

The 150 page report with 1300 pages of annexure which was submitted to Communications Minister Kapil Sibal today consists of at least seven DoT officials including former secretary Siddharth Behuria, Raja’s personal secretary R.K. Chandolia, who allegedly facilitated several deals.

The other five blamed in the committee’s report were DoT’s member technology R. Sridharan, former joint secretary M.S. Sahu, former wireless advisor P.K. Garg and two deputy directors general A.K. Srivastava and P.K. Mittal.

Mr. Sibal said that on Monday the government will study the report and its conclusions, but he declined to provide a time-frame for making the report public, or for any action to be taken.

The committee was set up on December 13, 2010 and was asked to complete the investigation in one month. On January 12, the telecom ministry extended the panel’s tenure.
