Aakrosh Movie Review, Ratings

Oct 15 (FLS): Directed by Priyadarshan, Aakrosh movie starring Ajay Devgan as Pratap Kumar, Akshaye Khanna as Siddhant chturvedi and Bipasha Basu as Geeta hit the screens all over the country today on 15th October. The movie has got average ratings and reviews from different sources.

The movie themes major setback that still exists in our society as a stigma and focuses mainly on the ‘honour killing’. It tries to enlighten the society on this and to change their attitude to the positive side. For viewers it has got both laughter as well as practicality.

However, sources have claimed that movie is yet another movie of Bollywood which has plagiarized ideas from Hollywood movie. The movie Aakrosh is reported to be copied from Oscar nominated drama Alan Parker’s Mississippi Burning.

In that film, two FBI agents go to the American South to investigate the disappearance of three civil rights activists. Here two CBI agents go to a village to investigate the disappearance of three medical students.

The racial conflict of Mississippi Burning is converted to a caste conflict. The Ku Klux Klan becomes the Shool Sena, a hate group, which kills a lower-caste boy and his friends for daring to elope with an upper-caste girl. The two officers, one a Dalit and the other a Brahmin, one a stickler for protocol and the other a loose cannon, fight against the murderous upper-caste establishment.

Some scenes are going to shake you if you are a light hearted person, especially when brutal killings are done. The film also consists of abusive language, harsh tones and brutal acts.

Paresh Rawal as usual is a good actor. Reema Sen has also done well in the movie. Overall, this intense theme based movie is a must watch to understand the abuse of this drawback in our society.
