It was tough moment for actor Shiney Ahuja in fast track sessions court today which booked him to jail for seven years for raping her maid despite of the victim turning hostile in the court during the trial.
As per report of the sources, as soon as the judgment was given by Judge P M Chauhan of the Sewri fast track sessions court, the actor broke down into tears inside the courtroom.
While speaking to media, Ahuja’s lawyer told that the court relied mostly on the police complaint and did not accept the maid’s statement that she was not raped as the judge felt that she was making false statements.
It was on June 15, 2009 when Ahuja was arrested after the medical tests on the claims of rape by his maid. However, in September last year, the maid changed from her claim and told that the incident had never occurred. She had also told in the court that this was done by her on the saying of a woman who had got her job at Shiney’s residence.
However, due to change of the victim’s statement, Court had declared her hostile and the police prepared a 109 page charge sheet which charged Shiney with rape and wrongfully confining the victim.
Ahuja spoke in his defence and called himself innocent. He reiterated the fact that he was being reframed.
