Air India crash update: Mangalore AI Express plane crash (video report)

mangaloreaircrashCNN has just reported that the number of casualties in the Air India Plane Crash may be over 160. Karnataka Home minister V S Acharya says that there may be just about 5 or 6 people who have survived the crash.

Altogether, the there were about 165 people on board this AI Express plane and it was coming from Dubai. The unfortunate event happen in Mangalore at around 6:30AM local time while the plane was trying to land in the Mangalore International Airport.

As per what Gopal Hosur, Inspector General of Police in Mangalore has told the reporters, about 8 to 10 people were taken out of the crash site and rushed to the hospitals. According to eye witnesses, the “plane crashed through the hilltop airport’s boundary wall and fell into a valley”.

    Really sad to hear. Heard that runway is very narrow when compared with all other airports and also the visibility was poor. Anyway event happened and 160 people passed away. We can pray for their family.

    Every day Morning I used to see news. Today morning I have
    seen news it is very sad to see we can pray for their family.
    any one can tell me how it will happend.Such incident should
    not be repeated.Enough care must be taken.

    My condolences.May their soul rest in peace. survived people are really blessed ones though they might take time to come back to normalcy.We live only once but beating death even once is a real grace from god.

    I wish and pray for the Almighty God to be with everybody in the families who lost their loved one’s in this deadly scene. Most unexpected and sad incident during 2010. I guess its high time for the Government / Private officials to take some steps quickly to get this airport / runway ready to avoid any such calamities. I also suggest better not media publish too many fotos / videos of this crash as it may affect a lot of families psychologically more than the actual loss of their loved ones.
