The final verdict deciding the fate of 26/11 prime accused Ajmal Kasab will be decided by the Bombay High Court on February 21 as per report of the sources. On that very day, Bombay HC will announce the judgement on confirmation of death penalty awarded to Kasab for terror attack case.
Sources have alos reported that the court will also give verdict on that day on Kasab’s appeal against his conviction.Earlier today, the bench of judge consisting Justices Ranjana Desai and R V More said that although the judgement was ready even today, it was delayed by fortnight due to bulky paper work compilation required in the case.
Kasab, the sole terrorist caught during 26/11 attack has been sentenced to death but a confirmation on the same will now be made on February 21.
While speaking to media, special public prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam told that Kasab’s judgement will be pronounced on 21 February at around 11 AM but Kasab will not be present in the court due to security reasons and will remain at Arthur Road jail.
Kasab’s lawyer Amin Solkar, however, pleaded that the judgement may be pronounced on February 28 as he was going abroad and would not be able to remain present on February 21. However, judges did not change their minds and decided to give verdict on the decided date.
