Aman Kachroo Case: All four accused surrender

Immediately after the rejection of the bail plea, the four accused in the Aman Kachroo ragging death case surrendered before Additional session Judge Dharamsala on Thursday.

All the four Ajay Verma, Naveen Verma, Abhinav Verma and Mukul Sharma accused were the final year student of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College Tanda.As per the direction ordered by Himachal Pradesh high Court they surrendered today and were immediately escorted to district jail Dharamsala by Additional and Session Judge Rajeev Bhardwaj.

The four accused were supposed to surrender themselves at the fast track court in Dharamsala but due to the absence of presiding officer Purinder vaidya because of his leave they submitted themselves before Additional and Session Judge Rajeev Bhardwaj. Court was adjourned with the decision of rejection of bail granted to them by the fast track court in Dharamsala.

The single-member High Court Bench also directed the accused to surrender at the fast-track court on Thursday.

The High Court also criticized the imprudent decision of giving bail to the accused on 17th of July by the fast track court and published a suo moto notice on Wednesday.

Some sources have also revealed that three of the accused namely Naveen, Abhinav and Mukul are also involved in the other criminal cases.

Aman kachroo was only 19 year old 1st year MBBS student of Rajendra Prasad Medical College when he was brutally beaten to death by four senior students on March 7 2009 in the name of ragging. Post Mortem report claimed many injuries on the dead body which came from ragging.

After Aman’s death, government has passed many laws against ragging to curb this menace and help the new comers to get out of mental and physical trauma.
