CBI has summoned the Gujarat state’s Minister of State for Home Amrit shah on Thursday for probing him in regard to the 2005 killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in fake shootout in Ahmadabad.
“Shah has been summoned today before us in Gandhinagar Office and his arrest was only a matter of time“, said one of the CBI officials.
Recently, shah has been missing Cabinet meetings and is not even attending office. Even the cabinet meeting which was held yesterday was also skipped by him. His sudden disappearance from these places is making people skeptical and the media has speculated that he might be arrested by the CBI in connection to the case.
After the key role played by the CID in the case, CBI has come into the picture to get to the bottom of the case. Earlier, CID had arrested top–brass of the police officials in the case along with 10 other policemen. IPS officers like D G Vanzara and Raj Kumar Pandian were found guilty in the case by CID. The CBI took over the case of fake encounter and mysterious murder of both Sohrabuddin and his wife.
The state’s ATS and STF claimed that they were killed in a shootout near Ahmadabad. The cops claimed he had come to Ahmadabad with the intention of targeting senior political leaders and to terrorize the people. The CBI collected the phone records of the minister to prove his role in the execution of the staged killing, sources said.
Seeing this scenario Congress has demanded the resignation of this BJP leader on moral grounds after CBI sent for him.

A week ago, the media geeks predicted from based on information provided from “inside sources” that Amit Shah’s arrest was imminent. Nothing was seen other than the fact that CBI called him for an examination. Nothing will come of this. You can all be sure of this. However much you sulk about the imminent arrest of Amit Shah, nothing will happen.
