Billionaire Anil Agarwal’s Vedanta Group although presently is lagging behind Mukesh’s RIL but with the propositions made recently the position on the list may swap. Though, Agarwal is a global leader in metals and mining and Mukesh is among the top ranked oil and petrochemicals product producing private sectors, he is planning to enter oil business by getting the Cairn’s Energy acquisition.

Well, with the entry of Agarwal in the oil sectors, it is expected that the competition in the oil sector will get intense as both the competitors capacity is gigantic.

With the acquisition in Agarwal’s kitty, Agarwal family would get promoters wealth double the size of Anil Ambani group. With the takeover of 9.6 billion USD Cairn India, Vedanta Group has already pushed the Anil Agarwal to the second position after Mukesh Ambani in terms of net worth, measured in terms of value of shares held as promoters in five listed group companies.
