Another Indian student dies in Australia, Krishna calls it unfortunate

It seems that the agony of the Indian student is not over in Australia as today on 14th March, a suitcase packed with the dead body of 24 year old Indian student has been found in Sydney.

Tosha Thakkar was the name of the student who was mercilessly raped and murdered. She was studying accounting at the Sydney College of Business and IT which collaborates which Southern Cross University.

As per statement issued by the Australian government, the murder has not been called racially motivated. The Australian government also extended its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Thakkar.

Peter Varghese, High Commissioner also sent a personal message of condolence to the family Tosha Thakkar and spoke to the family also.

According to the sources, Australian police geared up with the task of arresting the culprit as soon they found the dead body on Friday. They even arrested a 19 year old with murder and accused him for sexual assault. In a court hearing on Sunday, the suspect was denied bail.

In response to this, External Affairs minister S M Krishna called this rape and murder of Indian student as ‘unfortunate and assured that justice will be done.

He further also said that India’s envoy in Australia has sent the report and the situation is closely followed in Australia.

It seems that the situation of Indian students in Australia is pathetic and let’s sees what the Indian government does to overcome it.
