A local court in Banda failed to determine the age of the allegedly raped victim by Bahujan Samajwadi Party MLA Purushottam Dwivedi today in order to decide whether the victim is minor or not citing reason that all the relevant data were with the Allahabad High Court and thus making difficult to come to conclusion.
As per report of the sources, the Principal of the school in which the Dalit girl studied produced the some documents claiming that she was born in February 1992, which would make her almost 19 year old. However, girl’s lawyer Suresh Nishad said that the documents are manipulated.
Even, the court appointed medical board is still not clear about the age of the girl. However, girl claims that she was only 17.
Everything in this case is revolving around the age of the girl because that will play a key role in deciding the nature of charges pressed against accused Dwivedi.
On the other hand the political drama is staged by the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the BJP, who is camping outside the victim’s house to ensure she won’t change the statement which she gave against the MLA and to seek justice for the victim.
The Dalit minor girl was allegedly raped by MLA Dwivedi and later framed in a fake theft case and then jailed in Banda over a month. The victim was released from the Banda jail on Sunday, following the Allahabad High Court order to release the girl forthwith from jail unconditionally.
