Batcha Autopsy: Doctor's resignation rejected

The doctor, V. Dekal, who performed the autopsy of Sadiq Batcha who was a close aide of A Raja (former communication minister), had given his resignation but the Tamil Nadu government rejected it for seeing inadequacy in the number of staffs.

As per report of the sources, Dekal had put resignations earlier this month as he was planning to contest elections. He also told that he had submitted his resignation on March 3rd itself which was much before the post-mortem of Batcha.

Despite of his saying, government rejected his plea of resigning and asked him to be on duty from Tuesday.

Earlier, Sadiq Batcha was found hanging at his residence on March 16 and he was under the scanner of CBI for being involved in the multi-crore 2G scam. It was Dr. Dekal, who is on deputation to the Government Royapettah Hospital from Kilpauk Medical College, conducted the post mortem on 17th March and declared that the reason of the death was asphyxia in which there is lack of oxygen in the blood thus causing unconsciousness or death.

Elango, a resident medical officer of the hospital cleared the intention of Dekal that he wanted to contest in the assembly elections but was not aware of constituency or state he wanted to stand.

But his association with Batcha case would continue till its end and he was waiting for the decision of the government which would bring some relief for him.
