ISRO has launched the BHUVAN Earth yesterday (Please visit Bhuvan at http://bhuvan.nrsc.gov.in). We have discussed how Bhuvan Earth is different from Google Earth. I have been getting some questions like “How to use Bhuvan Earth?“, “How to install Bhuvan?” and “Where to download Bhuvan Earth?“, etc. Well here are the answers to these questions.
First of all, currently ISRO Bhuvan is in BETA state (i.e. the testing and developement stage) and only registered member can use its mapping feature. Well well, registration is free and you can dio it through this link. It has a simple registration form and it should take maximum about 60 seconds.
Once registered, your BHUVAN account will be instantly activated and you can start using it. But before that, you will be asked to download the Bhuvan Browser Plugin. The plugin seems to be available for only Internet Explorer at present. So use only Internet Explorer to visit the Bhuvan Website and use the mapping feature there.
That’s it. There is no more things you need to do. That’s easy and I am sure you like it. Since Bhuvan has just been launced and the site is getting lot of hits, expect some delay in response from the site (or sometimes complete downtime too!!!). But please be patient, Bhuvan is indeed a wonderful service by our Government and the ISRO to all of us.Share
