BJP leader Arjun Munda to become Jharkhand Chief Minister

BJP leader, Arjun Munda is all set to take oath as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand on September 11 for the third time after he was invited by the Governor MOH Farooq to form the government.

It is BJP–JMM coalition that has brought Munda, 42 years of age, the opportunity to get elected as the Chief Minister of Jharkhand for the third time .Jharkhand till now saw 8 chief Ministers within a short spam of 10 years of its creation.

In the wake of the report submitted by the Governor, Home Minister P. Chidambaram said that the Cabinet has made appropriate recommendation to the President based on Governor’s recommendation.

After the governor’s report to the Central government about the BJP-JMM government coalition in Jharkhand, Munda has been summoned by the Governor to take oath on September 11 at 11:00 am, Raj Bhavan sources said in Ranchi, two days after Munda staked claim.

As per sources, Mr. Munda was asked to prove his majority on the floor of the assembly within seven days from the date of taking oath. The invitation by the Governor came after Munda called on him shortly after the Cabinet recommended revocation of President’s rule.

Munda had submitted the list backing his majority support to the governor on Tuesday in which he claimed to have support of 45 MLAs in the Assembly whose effective strength is 81.In this 45 MLAs support- there are 18 MLAs each of BJP and JMM, two from JDU, five from AJSU and two Independent MLAs – Chamra Linda and Bidesh Singh.
