Bovine meat from India banned in Syria

Last month, Syria has banned bovine meat imports from India. Syrian Minister has said that the ban in the meat imports from India was necessary because the meat was not good in terms of quality.

As per a report published by PTI, Syria had to suspend the meat imports from India because the meat quality was not up to the international standards. The report also added that the ban will remain effective untill the Syrian officials confirm proper review and measures from the Indian side.

Syrian Economy and Trade Minister Lamia Mari Aasi said that the Indian meat exporters “should make sure that the quality is according to the standard we need”.

The two countries are expected to meet shortly to discuss the issue.

India seems to be the source of all non-quality stuffs. We need to improve or else, everything will be banned after some time.
