Karnataka Chief Minister has given a clean chit to the Reddy brothers over the charges of illegal mining on them. Yeddyurappa had said, “Nowhere are they (Reddy brothers) responsible for this illegal mining”.
However he recommended a Lokayukta probe into the issues between 2002 and 2010. But he ruled out the CBI probe into illegal mining which was demanded by the opposition parties.
CM Yeddyurappa also said that there is no plan to drop the Reddy brothers, G Janardhana Reddy and G Karunakara Reddy from the party. He accused the opposition of making false allegations against them. He was pressured by Karnataka Governor H R Bharadwaj to drop the ministers after the opposition held sit-in-protest in the cabinet.
He will also meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and urge him to stop the export of iron ore in order to prevent illegal mining and save natural resources for the future.
The Reddy brothers along with Yeddyurappa will hold a conference tomorrow in Delhi.
