Coal mine accidents in China kill 38 persons

In three separate accidents in coalmines in China, atleast 38 people were killed and 13 people were trapped inside. An electrical cable caught fire inside the Xiaonangou mine in Shaanxi province where 28 people died.

Rescue crews have started working to retrieve the bodies, so far remains of 5 workers have been retrieved. The owner of the mine has been arrested by the police.

In another separate incident, in a mine in Hunan province, eight people were killed when an explosion at the coal pit took place. Investigation is going on regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, in another coal mine in Gansy province at the Jijitaizi Coal Mine in Jinta County was flooded, where 16 workers were working in the shaft. Out of the 16 people, three were rescued safely but the remaining 13 were trapped underground.
