Well, this is really heart lightning news for all those who are working in the government sector as the government of India has approved to hike the Dearness Allowance by 6 percent which will be effective from January 1st this year.
As per report of the sources, government took this initiative to provide relief to its employers from the high inflation. The relief will definitely come to the Government employees as the retail prices are ruling high on 9 percent inflation.
As per estimation, with this approval of government nearly 50 lakh Central government employees and 38 lakh pensioners will be benefitted.
The latest dearness allowance has jumped from 45 percent to 51 percent of the basic pay. As it is effective from January 1st, the employees may expect more money coming to them in the form of arrears payment.
According to sources, the hike of 6 percent will cost Rs 5715.90 crore per annum to the exchequer. Moreover, the increase in the DA would be calculated in accordance with the formula prescribed earlier by the Central government during the Sixth Pay Commission for the Central government employees.
Interestingly, the move by the Central government to come up with the solution for its employees have come just 5 months before the election hit the country. Whatsoever, a normal man needs more money. Isn’t it?
