Dambulla practice pitch upsets Dhoni

Indian skipper Dhoni felt obnoxious about the practice pitch made at Rangini Dambulla on Saturday while he was practicing ahead of the tough match against Sri Lanka. Dhoni was unhappy with the pitch because of the uneven bounce that came out even in full length deliveries.

Today the team practiced three hours at Dambulla and sources have reported that Indian opener Karthik got hurt in his finger due to uneven bounce in the pitch. His injury has brought India into great dilemma to choose another opener. However, Indian team manager Ranjib Biswal said that Karthik is alright and he is likely to play in the coming match.

Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni did not practice well enough showing his displeasure over the pitch and told that pitches should have more consistent bounce in them.

India is practicing rigorously for the upcoming match on 16th August against the good looking Sri Lankan team. Earlier, they were made to see an embarrassing defeat by the Kiwis in which they were bundled at a very low score of 88 runs. This poor performance by the team has greatly affected its confidence and they are looking to win the coming match in a convincing style so as to prove back their worth.

The team manager also said that the players faced problem practicing on the pitch especially with good-length bouncing deliveries. He also appreciated the arrangements at the stadium for the practice session.

“We will again have a practice session tomorrow at the same time. There will be no briefing today,” he said before leaving for the hotel.
Munaf Patel is expected to be playing in the second match of India in the tri-series.
