Delhi government plans to kick beggar out of city for CWG

In the attempt to ensure clean look of the National capital which is hosting the Commonwealth Games 2010, Delhi government has come with the plan to hide the beggars away from Delhi in some remote areas and thus present a slum free scenario of Delhi to the visitors.

As per report of the sources, it has been reported that parks and open areas have been covered with tents and games banner in order to rehabilitate the shelter less till the games are over. To ensure these officials have been recruited who take care of stray beggars by providing the shelter in the temporarily constructed tents.

It seems that the initial initiative of the government to send the beggars to their native places has been failed as a result of which government has come with such a plan under which other than providing shelter, beggars would be  provided with food and other necessities, purportedly to ensure that they stay put inside the shelters from October 3 to October 14.

Special care has been taken to ensure cleanliness of the tent and the tent is likely to have the luxury of using proper toilets as mobile units will be stationed inside – to ensure that they don’t defecate in public.

Thus, government is all set to depict a scenario of glowing city but government is still traumatized in the wake of the danger of the dengue which is lurking in National capital. However, with this step of the government it has been ensured that the visitors are not going to be harassed by the beggars anymore.
