The world class railway link between airport and the city centre ‘the airport express line’ will be finally ready within fifteen days as officials report of the officials. As per report of the sources, the new airport express link will have 6 coached trains, supplied by Spanish company CAF; running at a speed of 135 Kmph on its track and it will take only about 20 minutes from city centre to airport which now takes 60 to 90 minutes.
It has been reported that after three times missed deadlines, Ms Shiela Dikshit, the Chief Minister of Delhi, announced that the first public-private partnership project of Delhi Metro was ready and set to operation in 10 days.
Speaking to the media persons, Ms Shiela Dikshit said that the airport express line was the first metro line in the country which came right up to airport. Ms Chief Minister further added that the beautification works had been completed and the formal opening would be done in a month’s time.
Mr Shreedharan, the Managing Director of Delhi Metro, said that it was a beautiful and world class Metro line. Mr Shreedharan further added that the passenger operation would commence soon after the security personnel move in.
The world class Metro line, built at the investment of 5,700 crore, has six stations- New Delhi Railway Station, Shivaji Stadium, Dhaula Kuwan, Delhi Aero City, Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) and Dwarke Sec-21.
