Russian President Dmitry Medvedev addressed a conference organized by Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay at its campus on Wednesday. Mr Medvedev shared his view on many issues at the interactive session.
As per report of sources, while discussing on the topic of disarmament Mr Medvedev said that according to present situation of world and the scenario casted by the different countries total disarmament seemed dubious. Responding to a student he said that use of Weapons of Mass Destruction Weapon (WMD) was gradually decreasing.
While talking about the Strategic Arm Reduction Treaty (SART) between Russia and US he said that American President Mr Obama was trying to ratify the treaty but if somehow, he could not Russia would not approve the treaty.
Reiterating the Russia’s bid he said that Russia would support India for the permanent membership at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC). He further added that however it was not an easy task and a common agreement was required.
While responding a question- delay in India visit, he said that there had been some technical and commercial snags which caused delay but it had nothing to do with India-US relation or jealousy factor.
Mr Medvedev visited the Centre for Research in Nanotechnology Sciences and he seemed keen to improve educational ties, especially in nanotechnology.
Dewang Khakhar, the Director of IITB said that IITB had a close connection with Russia and it had great interest in reviewing the ties.
