An earth quake of 6.4 Richter scale hit the north Eastern India today at around 8:23 PM at epicentre but there have been no immediate reports of damage and casualties till now as per report of the sources.
As per report of US seismologists, the quake was of 6.4 magnitudes and the location of its epicentre was 24.616°N, 94.740°E. They also claimed that the depth of the quake was 88.8 km and mostly the regions of Myanmar-India border were affected by the tremor.
Sources have also claimed that the quake was centred 50 miles east-southeast of Imphal, not far from the border with Myanmar, and 425 miles from Kolkata
“Most parts of the northeast comprising eights states suffered a power cut during the tremble. However, power supply was restored within 30 to 40 minutes,” a power department official told reporters.
AIR Guwahati Correspondent reports that cracks developed in several high-rise buildings following the moderate intensity jerks which continued for around 30 seconds.

Friday’s quake was the second tremor since Tuesday, when a 3.8 quake hit some parts of northeast India and adjacent Bangladesh.
