Bharatiya Janata Party senior leaders said that the Central and State government almost tried everything to stop Ekta Yatra and unfurling of flag by the opposition party at Lal Chowk to win the heart of Separatists and please them.
As per report of the sources, Senior BJP leader while representing a press conference in Jammu said that both the state and Central governments surrendered themselves both ideologically and psychologically to the separatists.
Jaitley also accused Central government and ministries of home and railways with the crime of hijacking as they diverted the trains carrying the BJP workers on their way to join the Ekta Yatra.
Earlier on Monday evening, Arun Jaitley, along with Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj and Ananth Kumar, was detained at Jammu airport and taken to Madhopur in Punjab.
Sources have reported that the leaders complaint about the conduct which they received on detention. They alleged that they were denied even the basic facilities of toilet and drinking water for more than two hours at the Jammu airport. Moreover, they were given access to the terminal building only after home minister P Chidambaram intervened that day.
While Swaraj confirmed, “Ekta Yatra ends today (Jan 26)”, another BJP leader LK Advani stated, “Yesterday’s unrest in Jammu and Kashmir reminded me of Dr Mukherjee’s sacrifice and our Cabinet ministers brought the existing situation of J&K to light.
Chief minister Omar Abdullah had invited the BJP leaders to attend the Republic Day celebrations at Jammu or Srinagar. But they turned down the offer calling it self-contradiction.
