England denies Pakistan for convincing win in the third Test

Pakistan brought for them a much needed win in the third Test against England after facing tough humiliating days in the previous two Tests. Pakistan won the third test unconvincingly by 4 wickets as they were made to toil for victory despite of the good start while chasing a low score of 148 runs.

The opener Imran Farhat played an aggressive inning of 33 with 6 boundaries in his kitty. Although his partner Yasir Hamid went back to pavilion on duck.Salman Butt played convincingly and joined the party with Farhat until he was succumbed by the spin of Swann on the score of 48 leaving Pakistan at the score of 103-3.

Small partnerships built between Yousuf and Azhar Ali and three wickets of Pakistan fell in quick succession bringing an interesting turn in the match. Pakistan was reduced to 132-6 with less experience batsmen left to fight back 16 runs from fierce English bowlers. Finally, it was young Umar Akmal who took the lead and finished off the match in a style.

England bowling was not as convincing as it was in the previous Tests as Anderson could manage 2 and Swann grabbed three wickets.

Earlier, in England’s second inning except Cook’s stupendous century the entire England team felt sheepish and they collapsed at the score of 222 on the third day evening itself giving Pakistan an easy target of 148 runs to make the Test in their name.

Thus, a 4 match Test series between England and Pakistan still has got something for Pakistan with one match still left. The England team dominate the series by 2-1 with final Test to go in Lords next week.
