Facebook and Aircel brings together for voice update

Facebook, the biggest social networking site, has always been popular for its exclusiveness and keeps bringing new stunning applications which have always lured the Facebook users. This time Facebook has brought another peculiar feature of updating status by using voice for the Aircel users.

Recently, Facebook and Aircel have tied up for bringing a new attribute of updating the Facebook status by using voice.
Reportedly, the Aircel said that the ‘Facebook Voice Update’ on Aircel would allow people to connect their friends on Facebook in their own voice without internet access on their mobile phones. Aircel further said that the peculiar application made an easy access for a large group of users anytime anywhere.

In a press conference, Mr Gurdeep Singh, the CEO of Aircel, said that convergence was the way forward as it opened a world of possibilities. Mr Gurdeep further added that the ‘Facebook Voice Update’ on Aircel was a step in a direction so it could help business community and the youngsters to connect efficiently.

As per report of sources, the technology used by Aircel uses a short code to record the user’s message and if a subscriber wants to update its status then the user can post the voice message as their status message on Facebook.
Report further describes that user’s friend then received an SMS alert about the new status updated and they could also comment on the update by using own voice Aircel.

Reportedly, Henri Moissinac, the Facebook head of mobile business unit said that in India over 15 million people were actively using Facebook and mobile was the important tool of stay connected. He further added that this new collaboration would prove very useful to Indian Facebook users.
