Beware folks! If you have put your mobile number and address on Facebook then try to remove it as soon as possible because Facebook privacy is no longer secure. As per report of the sources, it has been claimed by a security expert Graham Cluley that the website gives the private information even to the third parties.
Sources have reported that a Facebook application can steal users address and phone numbers. This application would allow third party to access your mobile phone number and address. However, as per latest development, FB has decided to suspend that ability for now due to continuous displeasure shown by its users this weekend.
Facebook developer Jeff Bowen in his blog said that Facebook was “now making a user’s address and mobile phone number accessible as part of the User Graph object,” and acknowledged that this was “sensitive information” that has to be approved by the user, using the now ubiquitous “standard permissions dialog” box.
Although Facebook quickly retracted their statement, FB users are not in the clear. The risks associated with social network sites, like Facebook and twitter, are already on the rise, as reported by security firm, Sophos.
After receiving a massive amount of negative feedback this past weekend, Facebook decided to change the game plan slightly by retracting and improving the permissions procedure.
Well, it seems that everything will be again back to normal but definitely users need to be aware of spams and hackers nevertheless.
