8 months after the launch of its first beta version, Firefox returns back and presents before the world, the new version of its web browser Firefox 4 to give a tough competition to all the browsers including Microsoft’s IE9 and Google chrome.
Though the launch of Firefox 4 was officially planned to be in November, its senior director Damon Sicore told that the board session, which was held today, decided to launch on March 22 itself.
As per report of the sources, the new version of Firefox can be installed on operating systems like Windows, Mac and Linux and is available in more than 70 languages. The best part of this web browser is that it can work on Windows XP operating System as well which was the major limitation of IE9.
The latest version has also got sleek new look and allows the web content to take centre stage. It is more customizable as it has new Add-ons manager that can easily discover and install more than 200 add-ons and customize the features, functionality and look of Firefox.
As pioneers of HTML5 video standards, Firefox also supports the WebM format so you can watch open HD quality video. It now integrates multi-touch support for Windows 7, enabling users to interact with their browser in a new way.
Users running Firefox 3.5 or 3.6 can download the latest version by selecting “Check for updates” from the Help menu. While users running Firefox 4 RC, need not download anything as Mozilla deems that build identical to the final.
