It seems that controversies have surrounded CWG 2010 in every sphere as the sensational news of the hour is that the theme song of the CWG 2010 is copied work of Waka Waka by Shakira. However, Shyam Benegal who is taking care of this job along with being the member of the core committee of Commonwealth Games has refuted these false claims.
Benegal told IANS that as different countries have their own theme song, so is India for this mega event has composed for itself a very energising lyric that is in no way a copy work. It’s all original with best minds on it to give a rocking impression to the song.
He reiterated that the lyric is stimulating with simple words, mostly in Hindi with some English words in between. The theme song will help the athletes to boost their confidence and uplift their spirit to rise up and win the world.
He also boasted of the song being composed by the finest Indian composer A R Rahman and told that the tune of the song was to be composed by Rahman in few days.
Earlier on Sunday, the Government of Ministers finalized the lyrics of the song and on that day it was announced that the tune of the song will be composed by Oscar winner Rahman. It has been revealed that Rahman is working on it with the view of giving it perfection. Around 99% of the composition task has been completed and only some finishing touch is required at which Rahman is exceptionally brilliant.
The theme song with the initial words “Oh yaaro, India bula liya” is expected to be launched in market in about 10 days. The Games are to be held Oct 3-14.
