Google has stumped all the major social networking services by rolling out a unique feature chat application service of calling on phones to different nations at cheap tariff rates.

With this application, the www world has been revolutionized by Google. All you have to do is to install a plug-in that lets you surface a dial pad so you can launch the VoIP calls from the account in Gmail.com.Well, the service has not been extended to the entire world at present and is currently launched only for US Gmail users so users don’t be sad as Google is likely to launch it all over the world shortly.

The VoIP feature was official unveiled by Google on Wednesday however; the services were discovered by the people on Tuesday only. New phone calling feature from Gmail will let users dial numbers right from its web interface and talk to their contacts using headphone-mic.

As per report, free calling service has been made available to the US nationals to call in US and Canada for the rest of year at least. Moreover, users based in US can also make calls to the UK, France, Germany, China, Japan and many more countries round the clock at very low rates like $0.06/per minute from their Gmail interface.

Writing on the official Gmail Blog, software engineer Robin Schriebman wrote that “starts today, you can call any phone right from Gmail”. It seems that cheap international calls tariff would definitely allure the users and increase the number of hits tremendously thus it holds the chance of overshadowing services provided by much popular Skype.
