This tool was conceptualized and developed in India at Google’s Bengaluru R&D Center and is presently available in 14 different languages – Arabic, Malayalam, Marathi, Nepali, Punjabi, Tamil, Bengali, Farsi (Persian), Greek, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Telugu and Urdu. The Google Transliteration IME at present supports Windows 7/Vista/XP.

Google Transliteration is also available in Gmail, orkut, Blogger, Knol and as a bookmarklet.
