In the latest news on the Halappa Rape Case, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa has ordered a CID probe on former minister Haratal Halappa to investigate the rape charges against him.
The CID investigation was ordered after the Chief Minister held a meeting with Halappa. He assured that the case will be handled very efficiently and that the justice will be provided.
Earlier, the opposition has demanded that the case should be investigated by the CBI. But according to CM BS Yeddyurappa, there is no use dragging the political motive towards this case as Halappa has already resigned from his post. The believes that the CID team is efficient enough to handle the case and that the truth will be reveled soon.
The CM also assured that necessary actions as per law will be taken after the investigation is over and the report is submitted.
Commenting on the CID investigation over the Halappa Rape Case, Home Minister VS Acharya also said that “the investigation would be impartial” and there will be no interference from the side of the government.
