Mumbai, Oct 27 (IBNS) The Bombay High Court on Wednesday adjourned till October 29 hearing of a petition filed Rajasthan Royals (RR) challenging its expulsion from the Indian Premier League (IPL) by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
Submitting its case before the high court, the RR contended that it had approached the BCCI to mediate, but got no response.
The RR counsel also placed before the court that the team’s management was concerned about the players and wanted their rights to be protected.
The High Court adjourned the hearing till Friday.
The RR had moved the Bombay High Court against the BCCI decision to expel the team, which had won the inaugural IPL, from the League.
The BCCI had terminated the agreement with RR on October 10, saying it had changed the shareholding pattern without informing either the Board or the IPL governing council.
The agreement with another IPL team, Kings XI Punjab, was also terminated on similar grounds.
