Heroes Season 5 not coming, says NBC

Advertisement:

Heroes created a wave of entertainment amongst the TV audience worldwide when it first created some “ordinary people” with “extra ordinary” abilities. This happened back in September 2006 and the first episode was aired on NBC on September 25th.

The first season of Heroes become one of the most successful series on NBC, with over 14.3 million viewers in the United States alone. The second season did as good as the first and attracted over 13.1 million viewers. Overall Heroes has won many awards including the prestigious Primetime Emmy Awards and the Golden Globes.

Heroes indeed became one of the most favorite series or many science and fiction lovers and the idea of “ordinary people” with “extra ordinary abilities” hiding amongst us, trying not show their real abilities, made many people wonder if the story can really be true. It was this excitement which made Heroes so popular amongst its fans. But slowly, Heroes began to introduce many new so called “ordinary people” in the series. And by the time it reaches season 3, there were so many “heroes” that “Nathan Petrelli” felt the need to bring together all the “ordinary people with extra ordinary abilities”!

The season 3 also started featuring a lot of “time travel” and the whole story line, which was clean and clear in the first and second seasons started becoming more scientific and confusing. It began to lose its hold and the number of viewers across America and across the Globe started decreasing. By time it reaches season 4, many of its hardcore fans started losing interest and a drastic drop was seen in the viewers chart.

Now, NBC thinks it’s time to close it down and stop the confusion hanging around the “ordinary people with extra ordinary abilities”. It officially announced the show’s cancellation on May 14, 2010. However, NBC is considering a wrap-up episode or even a “movie” to feature a proper conclusion to the story. We sure hope that, it will, at least help bring the spirit back.

NBC, I understand that the fan base may have dropped, but I don’t think cancelling the show is the best solution. I think the better solution would be to get back to the types of storylines you had in season’s 1-3. Personally, even though I watched the entire 4th season, I was very annoyed by thee whole Carnie angle, I thought it was a little “overdone” and think that this is probably the reason you experienced a smaller fan base this season.

Again, ending the show is not the better solution, I am a big fan and would like to see another season similar to the first or second.

    Thank you for your time.

Yeah, I think NBC is tremendously stupid here. The downfall of Heroes was stupidly thinking that ANYTHING can compete against Monday Night Football. Monday night timeslots are where shows go to die. Plus, the writing had waned a bit. I still watched regularly though. I DVRed it every week I couldn’t stay up.

NBC, how the hell do you renew CHUCK? But, Heroes…nope. Who even watches Chuck? NBC wasted all kinds of cash on Trauma, Southland Tales, etc. Now none of these shows will exist.

I am extremely disappointed in NBC for dropping this show and My Name Is Earl because even though earl was a great show, it apparently cost NBC too much to make. WTF?

Oh yeah, NBC has been making awesome programming decisions lately. Remember the Jay Leno show? We do. You’re making a huge mistake.

I love heroes and I have been watching it from the start like so many other people.
Heroes is a amazing show and should never have been cancelled, they can bring the ratings back up and they can make the stories like they were in seasons 1-3, just look at what made seasons 1-3 so good and bring heroes back. It is a crime against the many fans to let this brilliant show go so easily. I’m really going to miss it. :(

Don’t cancel the show! Just go back to the style people liked!!!! However, if such is the final announcement, and nothing can be done, I hope a good wrap up for the story may come. The show will be missed!

This is a total disaster! NBC should have never let this kind of thing happen to a show that was so succesful. That was the best thin NBC had to offer viewers and now that went down the drain! Good luck with the rest of the viewers! Pretty sure they’ll find something on another channel.

Heroes is freakin awsome, and it’s stupid that they ended it the way they did. I have all the seasons and it’s pretty major for me to go out and buy a tv series. NBC is just being flat out stupid, and all the other shows they have showing are not good. NBC has made a bad decision, and I don’t think they will be getting my attention. SCREW NBC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heroes has been my favourite TV show since I saw the first episode, I have seasons 1-3 on DVD and have watched season four every week and have been loving it… I am so disappointed that there will not be another season.

It is still a highly valued show and I will be said to see it and all it’s remarkable “ordinary people with extra ordinary abilities”

    Sad to see it go!

great show! would love to see a season 5; superb acting, great characters, and deliciously addictive. there are so many different tangents and layers possible still -hope someone will re-evaluate. p.s.-it’s hard to a truly great evil television character!!!

NBC, it’s your loss if you cancel the show. I think it’s a huge mistake. Instwead of cancelling, why don’t you hire some new writers with fresh ideas? It’s too soon to end it.

This is a joke!!! Just do a final season of 13 episodes or so and end it properly. Dont just walk away with no conclusion at all!! Heck I would settle for 10 episodes, just end it properly. I BEG OF YOU!!! PLEASE!!!

Yet again… Let down by the networks. I am done getting “hooked” on any series. They all get the same lack of loyalty from their networks (NBC is the worst) and I am done allocating any of my time to their garbage. This is such a huge mistake! I can’t help but feel reminded of Firefly. Different network but same end result. Cruddy management ruined Heroes not the plot or cast. NBC—I’m out!

I can’t beleave they are going to cancell heroes it’s the best thing on tv may be they should give Peter Petrelli his oridginal powers back and give him some better villans to fight.
