High court reserves judgment on Karnataka legislators

Bangalore, Oct 12 (IANS) A division bench of the Karnataka High Court Tuesday reserved judgment on the disqualification of the 11 ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislators. It also posted hearing in the case of five Independents to Monday.

The case of the five Independents was posted to Monday as there was a technical error in their joint writ petition.

Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa had won a trust vote amid chaotic scenes in the assembly Monday and 16 rebel legislators had gone to the high court against their disqualification by Speaker K.G. Bopaiah even before the vote on the trust motion was cast.
