The hard-line Hurriyat conference criticized Farooq Abdullah’s statement, which was made in the session of Lok Sabha two days ago, calling it as mockery of highest standard on Friday. Traitor was the word that was used by the Gilani the leader of the party to address Farooq over the comments made by the former.

Farooq Abdullah’s statement that the most of the people in Kashmir wanted to be with India was termed baseless and misleading by Hurriyat conference chairman Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and claimed that such a statement was made by the minister in order to save his post and Party’s government in Jammu and Kashmir.

While speaking to the reporters Mirwaiz felt pity on Farooq for his baseless statement and said that it was most embarrassing moment for the Kashmir that a citizen of Jammu and Kashmir made such a disgusting statement which is far from truth. He also further said that it is really heartbreaking as the Abdullah family that was ruling Kashmir for 60 years could not understand the wishes and aspirations of the people.

Chairman Geelani even in his statement asked the Indian government to hold the vote of the people to see what the people in Kashmir really covet for. He also said that Abdullahs were losing ground in Jammu and Kashmir and openly criticized him as conspirator who was trying to fulfil his selfish motives by crushing the happiness of common people.

“For God’s sake, stop exploiting Kashmiris”, Hurriyat leader said referring to Abdullah and asserted that the Kashmiris’ struggle for “independence” would continue.
