IND vs WI match result: India finally gets a convincing win

The final match of India for qualifying for the quarter final has definitely boosted the moral of the Indian team as they registered their first convincing win against one of the top teams in the World Cup. The home team despite of getting all out on 268 bowled really well and collapsed the entire West Indies team on 188 in 43 overs in Chennai.

Though West Indies opener Devon Smith gave the right start to the team but Ashwin proved his inclusion in the team as right by getting out the debutant batsman Edwards early. However, Smith along with Bravo played a sensible inning until Raina got Darren Bravo out in the 17th over.

Though, West Indies team lost two wickets Smith was firm on crease and was taking chances against Indian bowlers. Ramnaresh Sarwan from other end kept the momentum going and the duos had almost turned the match in their favor until Zaheer struck and took Smith out of ground. Since then, West Indies copied Indian style of collapse and they were all out on 188.

Earlier today, India won the toss and opted to batted first. It did not get the kind of opening it was having since the last few matches but Yuvraj and Virat who had to come early played sensibly and gave 122 runs stand until Virat was bowled out by Rampaul. Dhoni managed to take the team without losing any wickets till 41.4 over after which he fell.

Yuvraj got his first world cup century but the rest of the Indian team collapsed as per its trend on 268 runs in 49.1 overs.

Yuvraj Singh got the MOM award for his brilliant performance.
