Indian CWG athlete fails dope test

New Delhi, Oct 13 (IANS) An Indian athlete has failed the dope test at the Commonwealth Games, CWG Federation president Michael Fennell said Wednesday.

“We got the reports of the doping test late last (Tuesday) night. We have informed the Indian chef de mission at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) about the athlete testing positive for a drug,” he said.

“We cannot disclose the name or identity of the player as we have not got the confirmation from the player.”

“The chef de mission is supposed to reply by this afternoon and then we will disclose the name of the player. The player is from athletics,” he said.
