The second ODI between India and South Africa saw Indian batting collapse again in Johannesburg after a humiliating defeat of 135 runs in the first ODI. South African bowlers restricted Indian batsmen to 190 in just 47.2 overs on a wicket which was predicted to be good for batting.
Earlier today, Indian skipper decided to bat first after winning the toss. But to his dismay, his teammates could not take any advantage of the toss as right from the start India was on back foot.
Openers Sachin Tendulkar and Murali Vijay gave a slow start and the innings continued to meander along to come to a halt at 190.
India lost its first wicket on 21 when M. Vijay was caught on the ball of Tsotsobe. Kohli and Tendulkar tried to steady the Indian innings but there attempt made India move at very slow pace. Unfortunately, 42 runs partnership between the duos came to end after Kohli was run out by Miller.
Sachin too followed him to pavilion just after 4 runs. Yuvraj Singh and Dhoni tried to cover for India. Yuvraj was the highest scorer for India with 53 runs in his kitty followed by 38 of Dhoni. Both of them became the prey of Tsotsobe and India never came on the track after both of them departed.
Raina and Rohit Sharma went in cheap too and Indian wickets were no less than autumn leaves in the last overs of the match.
South African bowlers did it again and especially Tsotsobe who took 4 important men.
