Despite of having 232 Address Space (means total no of Internet Protocol address is equal to 4,294,967,296) the Internet has almost run out of IP addresses (IP address is a 32-bit which uniquely addresses the connection of a computer to network, like 10.113.151.30).
As per report of the sources, the Internet Address and Naming Agency (IANA) informed on Tuesday that it would allocate the last number seven remaining blocks of addresses this month, including three to overall Internet registrar for Asia and Pacific.
In his statement, Mr James Blessing, a member of the board of the Internal Service Providers Association of United kingdom, said that people might find that he/she could not have got online unless someone else’s went offline. Mr James further added that the situation would be like Internet before broadband, when everything was on dial-up modems, and if too many people dialling then it would be difficult to get online.
Reportedly, a replacement scheme has been drawn up to replace the IPv4 system by IPv6 (the no. Os addresses in IPv6 system are in trillions) system but because of many technical problems it is required to do gradually.
As per report of the source, Different web giants like Google, Yahoo, Facebook and others will switch over to IPv6 for one day in the first wide-scale test of the new network.
Mr Alex Pawlik, the Managing Director of Ripe, said that it was more vital than ever that ISPs, organizations and governments begun to deploy IPv6.
