It is campus placement season in Tihar from 25th Feb

Folk, till now we had been hearing campus selection of students from reputed Graduate and Post Graduate institutions of the country but on 25th of this month even inmates of Tihar Jail are going to sit in campus placement in which top executives of India Inc will conduct a recruitment drive in Tihar Jail and pick 50 inmates to be employed in their business houses.

As per report of the sources, the major recruiters include big names- IDBI Bank, Vedanata Group, Sterlite Foundation, Agarwal Packers, Jindal Steel and Flex shoes. Some of these inmates are highly educated with a few of them having MBA and MCA degrees.

And like any other recruitment drive, the candidate’s presentation would be the key point when corporate houses visit Tihar Jail on February 25 to hire ‘qualified’ persons once they are released.

While speaking to media, law officer and spokesperson of Tihar jail said that the authorities decided to help inmates because despite of their reform and being professionally qualified, they do not get a job once they are released because of their criminal background.

He also apprised media that a few have even managed to acquire MBA and MCA degrees while serving their term, through distance education programmes of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

On the issue of Candidate’s presentation, he said that they were getting in touch with agencies to give a crash course on the presentation to selected candidates as it was important for potential employees to have good, presentable curriculum vitae. Moreover, the agencies, essentially NGOs working with us, will prepare make the CVs.
