Following the accident of Robert Kubica on the track, Felipe Massa was seen fastest on day one in testing as Formula one returned to the track.
As per report of the sources, the Brazilian who is the driving for Ferrari gave the ideal start as his team topped the timesheets on Thursday. He set a best time of 1 min and 20.709 seconds during the morning which remains unsurpassed by any of 11 rival drivers till the end of day one.
Mexican rookie Sergio Perez of Sauber was second in 1:21.483, ahead of Red Bull driver Mark Webber.
Jerez presented the first opportunity to put the new car, which the team launched in Berlin last week, through its paces.
