JNTU Hyderabad announces EAMCET 2011 Date

Damodar Raja Narsimha, minister for higher education said on Thursday 30th December 2010 that EAMCET-2011 will be held on May 8 after a high level meeting which took place at the Secretariat.

While addressing media, he further announced that Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad (JNTU) would conduct the test and the results will be out within 15 days after the examination. He also informed that ICET which is the examination for the admissions in MCA and MBA colleges would be conducted by Andhra University on 15th of May.

It was further told to media that ECET would be conducted by JNTU on May 20, while Ed CET would be conducted by Osmania University on June 4 and PG ECET on July 6-11.

While there were fears of the government delaying the CETs this year, it has actually advanced the exams by two to three weeks.
However, the ranks will be announced later after taking 25 per cent weightage for Intermediate marks into consideration. The weightage for Inter marks in EAMCET will remain at 25 per cent and there will be no changes in conducting the EAMCET medical stream exam.

Meanwhile, Reddy, JNTU Vice-chancellor, also said that EAMCET marks would be tentatively declared on May 24 and the ranks on July 20. The exam notification would be released in the first week of February.

Meanwhile, Raja Narasimha said that new engineering colleges would not be allowed conduct admissions if they were approved by the AICTE after August 1, 2011. He further said that grading system should be introduced to rate engineering and pharmacy colleges in the state.
