Before the commencement of CWG games 2010 another game seems to draw attention from allover the world and that is the corruption game, which is getting interesting with each passing day. The game of allegations and counter allegations allured the attention worldwide and is getting worse as the organizing committee chairman Kalmadi has been trapped into another allegation of corruption at which the congress government was forced to take action against him.
The government has reportedly finally decided to take action against the alleged Kalmadi and ensured that actions will be taken against him only after finishing the first priority, which presently was the successful completion of projects and organization of the game.
However, as an immediate measure the government has appointed Cabinet Secretary K M Chandrashekhar to oversee the CWG preparations in the wake of large-scale financial irregularities that have been allegedly found.
It seems that the ruling party is divided over the course of action to be taken and hence deferred the decision till the mega event is over. Moreover, to take more convincing decision the Congress party led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi has decided to meet on Friday.
Earlier CVC had claimed for the poor quality of the work done in the venues and hotels constructed for the visitors and now CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) has reported that the games organizing committee has suffered a loss of 240 million alone in the awarding of broadcasting rights.
This decision of the congress seems to be hard for Kalmadi to digest but he has to endure it until the completion of CWG. The Commonwealth Games is going to be organized in New Delhi during 3rd-114th October.
