Karmapa money scam: Raids still on, hotelier detained

In a latest development in the Karmapa scam, the central government has sent today a team of Research and Analysis wing (RAW) and Intelligence Bureau (IB) for the second round of interrogation of the alleged Tibetan leader for his Chinese links.

As per report of the sources, the police have taken under a hotelier named K P Bhardwaj in connection with the recovery of one crore rupees from a car a few days back. Along with the hotelier, other who are detained include a banker and a property dealer.

However, there are not any report of Karmapa being questioned by RAW and IB team yet.

Earlier today, thousands of visitors from different monasteries and followers of Karmapa gathered at Gyuto Monastery near Dharamsala to show their support to the “next possible Tibetan spiritual leader.”

Police sources are spying on the speculation that the 17th Karmapa is a “Chinese spy” as Himachal Pradesh police, during a raid, seized almost Rs 6.50 crore worth foreign currency belonging to at least 23 countries from his residence.

While speaking to media, the Deputy General Secretary of Karmapa in Dharmshala, said that they have nothing to hide and are cooperating with investigative agencies.

Karmapa Spokesperson said that it was the money received through offerings and donations and not illegal money claiming that they stand by Karmapa who is not a Chinese spy.

    That looks like just a way to insult him.So what if they found money.He has thousands of follower all round the world.Its not a crime to have chinese or thaiwanese follower.I think they are just over reacting to this issue.

    This was the conspiracy of Tibetan Government in Exile run by Dalai Lama’s family member. Whoever tends to become much popular than Dalai Lama, TGIE will bring him down. I did not surprise at all. OLD TACTICS run by Dalai Lama’s Aristocrat Family hiding behind the Dalai Lama. If you don’t believe me, please go read the history. Lots of Rinpocheys since 1930,40… or look at the Reiting Rinpoche’s situation. Power struggle among Religious leaders. Sad Sad Sad.

    Dalai Lama received Millions of millions of dollars, but nothing happened why?????
