Kashmir continues to burn: Curfew in Trehgam town

In the wake of the call of the separatists for shutdown in burning Kashmir, Curfew has been once again clamped in the town of Trehgam of the Kupwara district on Sunday. The major parts of Srinagar have also been put on high alert as the separatists are looking to erupt.

On talking to the Police Officer in Srinagar it was found that Curfew was continuing in nine police station areas in Srinagar city, Bijbehara and Trehgam towns while restrictions have been imposed in the Baramulla, Pulwana and Anantnag towns. The officer also said that the authorities were likely to lift the curfew in many places of Kashmir valley as the situation was showing improvement.

Despite of the ease of restrictions in the Anantnag and Sopore towns, markets remained closed and vehicles were seen off the road which seems that the people are adhering to the separatist’s call of shutdown.

Earlier yesterday, the protesters clashed with the police at some places as the separatist Hurriyat group headed by Syed Ali Geelani had called for a general shutdown and demonstrations. However, none amongst the mob is reported to have suffered serious injuries.

Moreover, police officials had launched an operation against the stone-pelters yesterday in which they arrested 6 persons against whom there was enough evidence in videos and photographs.

The cycle of violence in Kashmir has swallowed 62 lives till now, mostly got killed by succumbing to the injuries made by the firings of the security forces, which was triggered after the death of the teenager by police tear gas shell on 11th June.

    Freedom for Kashmir.

    India is killing school children in Kashmir. Indian Army soldiers are raping Kashmiri women in broad daylight. India is committing genocide in Kashmir.

    The United Nations has passed numerous UN Resolutions stating that Kashmir has the right to vote to determine independence. India has defied the UN for 63 years. India should be placed under international sanctions.

    The world should boycott Indian companies. There should be an athletic, cultural, financial and military boycott of India.

    India is not a democratic nation. India refuses to allow Kashmir to vote on independence. India is oppressing Kashmir.
