Indefinite curfew raged people in Kashmir on Saturday and the valley saw a ferocious violence erupting amongst the people. Blinded by rage, the mob clashed with the security forces in which two civilians died and 40 people have injured including 30 policemen.
With the passing of each day the violent condition in Jammu & Kashmir is getting more and more aggressive and worse. Since Friday, Causality has risen to 6 and still the hellish condition prevails.
Taking the note of the existing scenario, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah again issued an appeal to the people to be attentive against the ominous conditions prevailing there. Despite of his reiteration of the commitment of his government to restore law and order things are unlikely.
As an immediate step, Omar Abdullah decided in the meeting held today to establish three ministerial teams for Baramulla, Anantnag and Pulwama districts which will work with the citizen groups for speedy restoration of peace in those areas as people likely seem to have hard feelings against the security personnel. They will also monitor the day-to-day situation personally and initiate measures for return of peace
Two deaths took place today when security forces unleashed fire on the mob that were set to ransack and fire the Kashmir Armed Police’s battalion headquarters .Repeated requests to empty the place went in vein and police was left with no choice but to fire.
People have been urged to leave inside their houses and are pleaded not to defy curfew.
Violent mobs at different places also tried to damage the public property and burnt many patrolling vehicles.
Chief Minister warned the people regarding damaging public property and told that strict and firm steps will be taken against them.
