The controversy involving Florida pastor who is adamant about burning Koran, the holy book of Islam after being condemned by all over the world has also drawn the attention of US President Barack Obama who has urged the Florida based pastor to abandon his disrespectful act.
In the wake of celebrating the 11th September 9th anniversary by Florida pastor who was determined to burn Islamic holy book, the entire world reaction ranged from fury to warnings of a rise in extremist attacks.
President Obama urged today the pastor to abandon this malicious act by saying: “This is a recruitment bonanza for Al Qaeda.”He reiterated the fact that this act will increase the hatred for America amongst the people and more and more individuals would offer themselves for recruitment in terrorist groups like Al-Qaeda.
Reacting to this disgraceful obstinacy of the pastor, Jeddah-based Organisation of the Islamic Conference, which represents the entire Muslim world, said in a statement that the act would constitute “an outrageous path of hatred.”
“This action will provoke the reaction of all Muslims as well as that of the faithful of other religions,” said Iranian Foreign Minister.
“This bizarre plan… undermines our faith… is a flagrant insult to the feelings of Muslims worldwide and would ruin efforts to preach understanding amongst faiths,” said an unidentified foreign ministry official cited by KUNA news agency.
In Pakistan and Afghanistan, hundreds of protesters — at least one group of them organized by a local politician — took to the streets to decry the church’s plans.
Thus, the international outcry over a small Florida congregation’s plan to burn copies of the Koran on Sept. 11 intensified on Thursday and is likely to get worse with each passing moment.
