The Common Wealth Games preparation is at its peak amidst the fear of terrorist attack by LeT. Sources say that the defence Minister of India has shown his concern on the security of players during the CWG and shared his fear to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the U.S. Admiral Mike Mullen at a meeting in New Delhi on Friday over security against LeT.
Talking to the reporters at the US embassy in New Delhi Mullen accentuated on the fact that Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has become “a very dangerous organisation and a significant regional and global threat”. He further added that LeT is expanding in Afghanistan and Taliban and suing the western soldiers.
It is claimed that Pakistan is giving its widespread support to these malicious agencies through its charitable arm and it was LeT only who was responsible for the death of 176 people in 26/11 attacks on Mumbai which after initial denials were finally agreed by Pak.
Some sources say that not only Pakistan is involved in assistance to them but Gulf based backers are also funding them and around 2000 offices of LeT are in Pakistan itself.
‘Army of righteousness’ alias LeT was originally created by Pakistani security forces to intrude into India and fight for Jammu & Kashmir.
It is a matter of great concern that LeT is expanding since 2008 and making their hold strong not only in Pakistan but other countries like Afghanistan, Taliban to name just a few. Even al –Qaeda have been using LeTs camps for training.
“India can’t risk perils on the life of players so security in CWG will be of highest level”, said an official.
