Muslims fear alienation of minority after Ayodhya verdict

Oct 3 (FLS): The Thursday’s ruling of the Ayodhya verdict by the Allahabad High Court has instilled in Muslims fear of alienation of minority community as after reviewing the verdict completely they call it the decision based on faith rather than secular and civil laws.

Allahabad High Court on Thursday declared by majority 2-1 division of the disputed land and declared that the place where idols were placed in 1949 was the birth place of Hindu god Ram.

The response immediately after the verdict from both sides of the litigants was normal but after the review of the complete judgement, issues are rising among the Muslim group and they are calling the judgement biased.

As per comments of the political science teacher of Aligarh University, the decision was not legal and the verdict appeared to have legitimised the Babri demolition. He also told that the faith of Muslims in Indian judiciary has been shaken.

The All-India Muslim Personal Law Board even showed its dissatisfaction towards the verdict and has called for a ‘large scale national debate’ on the nature of the judgement.

Even some of the leaders in Lucknow and Delhi are asking the Central government to help in overturning the judgement. In words of Navaid Hameed, National Integration Council member, it is centre’s duty to approach Supreme Court to annul the verdict that overlooked constitutional tenets.

Thus, the verdict, although late, has sparked debate among individuals of the community and they are calling the verdict based on faiths rather than facts.
