After an embarrassing event of hurling of shoe on the chief Minister Omar Abdullah on the eve of Independence day celebration , Omar has pardoned the suspended constable Abdul Ahad Jan who targeted him with his shoes but missed nearly.
Omar Abdullah on Tuesday kept the sanctity of this holy month of Ramadan and forgiven Jan on compassionate grounds ordering the police even to withdraw the case against him.
According to sources it has been found that Jan was summoned by Omar to his residence and was asked the reason for his misbehaviour. After listening patiently to the reasons mentioned by Jan, Omar ordered his officials to free him and they were also asked to escort to his native village back to his family.
Omar Abdullah by this pleasing act of his has left the Kashmir people agape but the people are taking this as another strategy deployed by him to affect their ongoing separatist movement.
When accosted by the media person Omar told that punishing the culprit cannot help him to improve and repent for mistakes. He also told that the month of Ramadan teaches Muslims to be merciful and heed to the grievances of needy and his all steps will be in conformity with the teachings of Islam.
Some sources have confirmed that Omar even hugged Jan and at this Jan could not control his tears and definitely his breaking into tears shout of his repentance.
After the incident of hurling of shoes Jan was taken into custody and as many as 15 policemen were suspended for their carelessness at duty.
